GTA 6 specs and system requirements

Rockstar has published no GTA 6 PC requirements, because no PC version has been announced; GamesBeat reports one for early 2027. On consoles, GTA 6 needs a PS5, PS5 Pro or Xbox Series X|S, about 210 GB of free space (reported), and Rockstar says builds shown so far run at 30fps.

People searching for GTA 6 specs usually want one of two things: PC requirements, which do not exist yet, or what hardware the game actually runs on, which is known.

What are the GTA 6 PC requirements?

Rockstar has not announced a PC version of GTA 6, so there are no official minimum or recommended specs. In October 2026 GamesBeat reported, citing four sources, that a PC version is planned for the first quarter of 2027; Rockstar did not comment. Lists of “GTA 6 PC requirements” online are guesses. The full PC picture is in GTA 6 on PC.

GTA 6 console specs: the hardware it runs on

GTA 6 runs only on these consoles. Their specs come from Sony and Microsoft, not from Rockstar, and are the closest thing to a known baseline.

The PS5 Pro is also supported: the PlayStation Store labels GTA 6 “PS5 Pro Enhanced”, though neither Sony nor Rockstar has said what that changes. See GTA 6 on PS5 and GTA 6 on Xbox.

Does GTA 6 run at 60fps?

  • Frame rate: Rockstar’s Rob Nelson told visiting creators in August 2026 that console builds run at 30fps. He did not promise a 60fps mode.
  • Resolution: not published for any console.
  • Series S: no separate targets; the Xbox Store lists the game as Optimized for Xbox Series X|S.

Reviews, reported for November 18, will be the first independent tests. See GTA 6 reviews.

GTA 6 storage requirements

The PS5 download is reported at about 210 GB, from PlayStation Store data read on October 27, 2026; Rockstar has not confirmed it. Every copy is a download, since boxed copies hold a code. On a 512 GB Series S that is more than half the usable space. Details in GTA 6 file size.

GTA 6 specs: common questions

What are the GTA 6 PC requirements?

There are none yet. Rockstar has not announced a PC version, so it has not published minimum or recommended specs. Any list claiming to be official is invented.

Can my PC run GTA 6?

Nobody can say until Rockstar publishes requirements. GTA 6 is not on PC at launch; GamesBeat reports a PC release in the first quarter of 2027.

What do I need to play GTA 6?

A PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, roughly 210 GB of free storage, and an internet connection to download it, since boxed copies hold a code rather than a disc.

Is GTA 6 compatible with PS4 or Xbox One?

No. It only runs on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. See GTA 6 on PS4 and Xbox One.

Does GTA 6 run at 60fps?

Not promised. Rockstar's Rob Nelson said in August 2026 that console builds run at 30fps and did not commit to a 60fps mode.
