GTA 6 pre-order guide
GTA 6 pre-orders have been open since June 25, 2026 on the PlayStation Store, the Xbox Store and at retailers. The Standard Edition is $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition $99.99; every pre-order gets the Vintage Vice City Pack, and everyone can preload from November 12.

Where can I buy GTA 6?
- PlayStation Store: both editions, digital.
- Xbox Store: both editions, digital.
- Retailers: the boxed Standard Edition, which holds a download code rather than a disc.
Buy from these official stores or well-known retailers only. Sites selling cheap “GTA 6 keys” or “early access” are scams.
GTA 6 boxed copy: a code, not a disc
Take-Two’s June 24, 2026 announcement said physical copies of GTA 6 contain only a download code. They go on sale on November 12, the same day preloads open, so boxed buyers can download early too. Rockstar Support adds the details:
- Edition: Standard only. Boxed buyers can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade digitally after redeeming the code.
- Regions: PS5 codes only work on a PlayStation account from the same region; Xbox codes are not region-locked.
- Bonuses: the box includes the Vintage Vice City Pack but not the GTA+ month. Since everyone downloads, check your storage: the game is reported at about 210 GB (GTA 6 file size).
GTA 6 pre-order bonus: Vintage Vice City Pack
Every pre-order includes the Vintage Vice City Pack. According to Rockstar Support it contains:
- a ‘55 Vapid Stanier sedan and a garage
- outfits and hairstyles
- a weapon pattern
Digital purchases before November 20, 2026 also include one month of GTA+, Rockstar’s membership for GTA Online. On PlayStation it must be claimed by March 31, 2027, and it renews as a paid subscription unless you cancel. More in GTA 6 Online.
Is there GTA 6 early access?
No. Preloading is not early access: the files download a week early but stay locked until the GTA 6 release date, November 19, 2026. The only people playing before launch are reviewers, whose embargo is reported for November 18 (GTA 6 reviews).
How GTA 6 pre-orders are going
Take-Two does not publish pre-order numbers. On its August 7, 2026 earnings call, CEO Strauss Zelnick called them “unprecedented and astonishing” but gave no figures. He later told CNBC that pre-orders were leaning towards the $99.99 Ultimate Edition. In October, research firm Circana found that 29% of US console and PC players planned to buy the game, the highest purchase intent it has recorded.

Can you pre-order GTA 6?
Yes. Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026 on the PlayStation Store, the Xbox Store and at select retailers.
Does GTA 6 have early access?
No. No edition lets you play before November 19, 2026. Digital pre-orders and boxed copies can preload from November 12, but the game stays locked until launch.
What do you get for pre-ordering GTA 6?

It depends on the store. Check the payment terms at checkout; some stores charge when you order and others when the game ships or unlocks.
How many people have pre-ordered GTA 6?
Take-Two has not given a number. In August 2026 its CEO called pre-orders 'unprecedented and astonishing'.
