How we check GTA 6 news

Each claim on this site carries one of four labels, and a story is only called confirmed when Rockstar, Take-Two or a platform holder has said it themselves.

The four labels

  • Confirmed: Rockstar, Take-Two or a platform holder said it. Examples: the Rockstar Newswire, Rockstar's GTA VI page, Take-Two press releases and earnings calls, the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store listings, the ESRB.
  • Reported: From a news outlet or leaker; not confirmed by Rockstar. We name the outlet or person and link to them. A report from a source with a strong record, such as Bloomberg or a named industry reporter, is still a report.
  • Debunked: Checked and found to be false. We say what was claimed, where it came from, and what the official record shows.
  • Analysis: Our reading of the official facts. It is opinion built on confirmed facts, and says so.

Sources we do not use alone

Anonymous social media accounts, YouTube "insider" videos, and sites that repost each other without a named origin. If a claim only exists there, we either leave it out or label it as an unverified rumour and explain why.

Leaked material

We report on leaks as news, but we do not host or link to leaked footage, code or files.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix the page and say so at the bottom of it, with the date. When a reported claim is later confirmed or denied, we change its label and the page's updated date. Send corrections through the contact form.

Independence

The site is not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive and receives no review copies or payment from them. If a page ever carries an affiliate link, the page will say so next to the link.
