GTA 6 will not stream exclusively or to PC, Xbox says, denying a cloud deal report
Xbox denied on October 7, 2026, that it holds exclusive GTA 6 streaming rights or will stream the game to PC. Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball said on X that GTA 6 "will not be streaming exclusively or to PC", a day after The Verge reported an exclusive cloud deal. Whether GTA 6 will be on Xbox Cloud Gaming for console owners is still unclear.
A report that Microsoft had locked up GTA 6 streaming, and might bring it to PC players that way, lasted about a day. Xbox itself shut it down.
The GTA 6 exclusive streaming claim
- The report: on October 6, 2026, The Verge reported that Microsoft had secured exclusive cloud-streaming rights to GTA 6.
- The speculation: the report suggested this could let PC players stream the game.
- The follow-up: The Verge’s reporter later said the deal was more complicated than first reported.
The Verge’s article is summarised here as Shacknews and Dexerto reported it.
Xbox denies GTA 6 PC streaming
On October 7, Xbox Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball replied on X. He said the game “will not be streaming exclusively or to PC”, and added that Xbox looks forward to the November 19 launch.
That is a direct denial from a platform holder, so this site marks the exclusive and PC streaming claim as debunked.
Is GTA 6 on Xbox Cloud Gaming?
Unclear, as of November 3, 2026. Microsoft denied exclusivity and PC streaming, but it has not said whether the game will stream to Xbox consoles at launch.
