Reviews are the last big piece of news before the GTA 6 release date. This page will carry the scores once they are published.

When is the GTA 6 review embargo?

• Date: November 18, 2026, according to leaker NateTheHate, who said review codes had gone out. Insider Gaming says it verified the date independently.
• Time: one leak puts the main embargo around 6 to 7 a.m. Eastern; it is not confirmed.
• Exceptions: some outlets or video creators are reported to be held until launch at 12:01 a.m. Eastern on November 19.
• Official word: none. Rockstar and Take-Two have not commented.

A day-before embargo would match Rockstar’s last two big launches: reviews of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 also appeared before release day.

GTA 6 reviews: what to look for

Reviews of a game this size tend to agree on the headline score and differ on the details. When they arrive, the points worth reading for are:

• Performance: frame rate and resolution on PS5, PS5 Pro, Series X and Series S. See GTA 6 on Xbox and GTA 6 on PS5.
• Story length: how long the campaign with Jason and Lucia runs.
• The map: how much of Leonida is open from the start.
• Online: reviewers will only judge the single-player game; see GTA 6 Online.
