GTA 6 multiplayer expected in 2027, Twitch CEO says; Rockstar has not announced it

A year for GTA 6 multiplayer has come from outside Rockstar. The head of Twitch named one in an interview with Bloomberg.

GTA 6 multiplayer release: what the Twitch CEO said

• Who: Dan Clancy, Twitch’s chief executive.
• Where: an interview with Bloomberg, as reported by Video Games Chronicle and The Star.
• Claim: he expects GTA 6’s multiplayer to arrive “next year”, meaning 2027.
• Basis: Twitch’s talks with Rockstar.
• Rockstar: has not confirmed it.

Clancy does not speak for Rockstar. Until Rockstar or Take-Two names a window, 2027 is his expectation, not a date.

Will GTA 6 have online at launch?

Nothing official says so. As of November 3, 2026, Rockstar has not announced an online mode or a window for one. The game launches on November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Two other details are often cited, and both need care:

• ESRB listing: some outlets read the missing “Users Interact” notice on the M rating as a sign of no online mode at launch. That is an inference, not a statement from the ESRB or Rockstar. See GTA 6 ESRB rating.
• Microtransactions: Kinda Funny’s hosts said Rob Nelson answered “no” when asked about microtransactions. That covers the single-player game; Rockstar declined to discuss any future online mode. See our Extended Look report.

So the single-player game has a firm date, and multiplayer has only a third-party expectation. Any site selling GTA 6 Online “early access” or a “beta” now is a scam.
