GTA 6 October 5 news: the LOVE magazine cover issue, not a Rockstar post
There was no Rockstar Newswire post on October 5, 2026. The GTA 6 news that day was LOVE magazine's Issue 27, which went on sale with Jason and Lucia on the cover, interviews with Rockstar staff and new screenshots. Rockstar's next Newswire posts came on October 8.
Headlines in early October billed October 5 as the date of the next official GTA 6 update. What arrived that day was a magazine cover, not a Rockstar announcement.
What was the GTA 6 October 5 news?
- Rockstar Newswire: no GTA 6 post on October 5.
- The actual news: LOVE magazine’s Issue 27 went on sale, with Jason and Lucia on the cover.
- Preview: LOVE showed the cover on Instagram on October 2.
- Rockstar’s own promotion: Rockstar shared the cover story on its X account on October 9.
- Next Newswire posts: October 8, covering the first radio stations and a merch line. See GTA 6 radio stations revealed.
So the story is real, but it is LOVE’s story. Rockstar took part in it and promoted it a few days later.
GTA 6 LOVE magazine interviews: who spoke
The issue carries interviews with four Rockstar staff:
- Rob Nelson
- Rupert Humphries: narrative lead.
- Elizabeth Gauvey-Kern: writer.
- Alexa D’Agostino: writer.
It also includes new screenshots of the game. Nelson described building GTA 6 through repeated eight-week milestones, a detail Kotaku picked up in its coverage.
GTA 6 Jason and Lucia on the LOVE cover
The cover puts the game’s two leads, Jason and Lucia, together about six weeks before the November 19, 2026 launch. Three of the four interviewees work on the story side: the narrative lead and two writers.
