GTA 7 release date: when does GTA 7 come out?
There is no GTA 7 release date, because Rockstar has not announced GTA 7. As of November 3, 2026, Rockstar's next game is GTA 6, out on November 19, 2026. Its heads of development told Bloomberg the project after that should take less time.

GTA 7 has not been announced, so there is nothing to date. Any GTA 7, GTA 8 or GTA 9 release date you see online is a guess, and any GTA 7 download or beta is a scam.
Is there a GTA 7 release date?
No. Rockstar and Take-Two have not announced GTA 7, so there is no date, window or platform list. As of November 3, 2026, Rockstar is 16 days from launching GTA 6 on November 19; see the GTA 6 release date.
What Take-Two’s CEO said about GTA 7
At the TD Cowen conference in May 2024, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked what comes after GTA 6 and quipped “GTA 7?”. It was not an announcement, and no GTA 7 has been announced since.
When does GTA 7 come out after GTA 6?
Rockstar’s heads of development told Bloomberg in October 2026 that the next project should take less time than GTA 6, because they will keep the current engine, tools and team rather than rebuild them. Bloomberg reported that Rockstar does not expect its next game to take another eight years. The report speaks of Rockstar’s next project and does not name GTA 7.

Is Dan Houser working on GTA 7?
There is no sign of it. Dan Houser, Rockstar’s VP Creative and a longtime GTA co-writer, left the company on March 11, 2020, according to a Take-Two SEC filing, and now runs Absurd Ventures. What comes before GTA 7: GTA 6 on PC and online
Before any GTA 7, Rockstar has GTA 6 to launch and, reportedly, to expand. GamesBeat reported a PC version planned for the first quarter of 2027, and Twitch’s CEO told Bloomberg he expects GTA 6 multiplayer in 2027; Rockstar has announced neither. See GTA 6 on PC and GTA 6 Online.
