The original GTA 6 release date
GTA 6 was originally meant to come out in fall 2025. Rockstar's first trailer in December 2023 promised 2025, and Take-Two narrowed that to fall 2025. The first fixed date was May 26, 2026, and the game now launches on November 19, 2026.

What was the original GTA 6 release date?
Rockstar’s first trailer, released in December 2023, ended on a single year: 2025. In May 2024, Take-Two narrowed that to fall 2025 in its annual results. That was the original plan for a full year.

GTA 6 May 26, 2026 release date
On May 2, 2025, Rockstar gave GTA 6 its first exact date: Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Four days later it released Trailer 2. The date lasted six months.
When did the GTA 6 release date change to November 19, 2026?
On November 6, 2025, Rockstar moved the game to Thursday, November 19, 2026, saying the extra time was needed to finish it properly. That is the current GTA 6 release date, and every official channel still shows it as of November 3, 2026.
